2009 is a year best forgotten! Generally speaking, many things happened in 2009 that I am so glad to have seen. SO many things in my life, personally, that I would always want to experience (summer of love, anyone?). However, the Christmas Blizzard of 2009 really ruined my holidays. I had some incredible bright spots in what was otherwise a very sad Christmas. I love time for the family stuff. My folks are great and we are a small but tight-knit group (even through our dysfuction). My husband's family is large and a lot harder for me to get used to. But we didn't make it out to my folks's place before the snow, and the roads were impassable until yesterday (when we did sneak out there for a little bit). Even my mother-in-law cancelled the in-town Christmas get-together and rescheduled for yesterday, which we missed.
My favorite moments of Christmas 2009: Crazy snow driving by Robert (the man is insane, but no snow gets him down), Christmas Eve viewing of Avatar followed by Chinese food dinner and gift exchange, Surprise Christmas night dinner of king crab and peppered pork (dinner WIN) and Rock Band until the wee hours. And best of all, lots of time with the hubby.
